“The only reason I knew it was cold was because of the brisk air that was lightly touching my face. The winter air was all around, but I was warmed by the oversized jacket that hugged my body, and the steaming mug of hot chocolate that we made together pressed against my palms. Above were bright, specific, and individual stars that shone above our heads, and I couldn’t see you, but I could see the silhouette of you illuminated by the lights above. When I looked at you, or what I could see of you, I really felt your presence, and that nothing else was happening in that moment but you and I, standing warm in the cold. I heard the snapping of twigs below our feet as we shifted our bodies to look at different patches of stars, I could see only the shapes of the trees behind and all around us, I could feel my lungs fully breathing and taking in the pure and crisp air. I wanted to capture the beauty of the simplicity that was that moment: a person I loved, doing nothing but existing in such a beautiful place. I turned to you after letting these thoughts come to a close in my head, and I told you I wished I could paint, or draw, or take a photo, or something, of this moment, because it was just so beautiful. And you told me to describe it to you, so that you would.” Words by @laraisabird #collaboration #illustration #procreate #illustration #painting #writing #moment #cold #warm #stars #winter #cabin #cabinownerleah -- source link
