On this day in history, two years ago…Two years ago today, the US Supreme Court struck down states’ same-sex marriage bans, bringing marriage equality to the entire US. “No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family,” Justice Anthony Kennedy, who joined the court’s liberals in the 5-4 ruling, wrote. “[The challengers] ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right."
