Having grown up obsessed with all things UFO’s, being asked by Ian Worrel to design the interior of one for Gravity Falls was a dream job. There was a lot of art done for this episode, so I’ve tried to be selective. I’ve included some of the earlier explorations above that led us to the final. A lot of what we talked about was designing this thing to feel BIG, and painting it to feel like it’s been there for thousands of years. It was decided that the top floors closer to the surface would have been infiltrated by nature, vines and water damage, but as we proceed to the lower levels of the craft, mother nature would have less of an impact and we would get to see the ship closer to it’s original state (minus some damage from the crash) Alex Chechik is responsible for the last two layouts which I then painted. There are also some vines in there drawn by the talented Sun jae Lee. -- source link
