The Splash Mountain ride at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World is currently based on the controversial 1946 film ‘Song of the South.’ It will now feature the characters of ‘The Princess and the Frog,’ which stars the first and only Black Disney princess. While the announcement comes after public outcry relating to racial stereotypes in the original ride, Disney reports that Imagineers have been working on the redesign since last year.
