During my last year of grad school, I had a vivid prayer experience where I found myself dancing with Jesus wearing a wedding dress. Naturally, my mind started to jump to conclusions and thoughts of “um…does this mean I’m supposed to become a nun?” but something in Christ’s face told me to stop worrying and just focus on Him. ⠀
⠀
And so, we danced.⠀
⠀
And at the end of the song, Jesus led me to a figure who, even though I couldn’t make out his features, I knew was my future husband. ⠀
⠀
Almost two years later, I was praying in the chapel of a retreat center and, out of nowhere, my heart jumped back to that experience I had all but forgotten. Only this time, I was wearing the wedding dress I had chosen a month earlier and knew exactly who Jesus would bring me to when the song was over.⠀
⠀
And so, we danced. ⠀
