She also co-founded the Women’s Engineering Society in 1919, and advocated for more inclusion of the female gender in a traditionally male-dominated profession. She specialized in several types of engines, such as locomotive, diesel, and internal combustion. While working for Research Engineers Ltd., she patented several inventions, such as an apparatus used for treating tuberculosis.
