waitingforthet: Patreon Goal Tuesday! We hit a new goal, which means every third week you’re going to be getting an Amalgamated character in the spirit of that old crossover event, Amalgam! This week we’ve got an Amalgamation of Daken and Obsidian, DUSK! During the 1950s, Canadian superhero the Stoat was having an affair with his longtime nemesis Silver Thorn. When she discovered she was pregnant, she went into hiding, eventually giving birth to twins. Keeping the girl for herself, she left the boy with the Hudsons, longtime allies of his father. As a teenager, he discovered that he had the ability to draw power from the Darkforce Dimension. Drawing the shadow energy into his body gave him access to powerful forces, allowed him to do amazing things, but came at a cost. Too much power and he would start to lose empathy, become disconnected from his moral core. All worry, all anxiety, all hesitation would melt away, leaving only cold, hard clarity of purpose. It was equal parts seductive and terrifying.
