Everyone needs a sharp rock contact in their lives between a granophyre (right side of the first photo) and the younger pegmatitic rock (left) with epidote veins cross cutting the granophyre. Although it’s hard to tell, the pegmatite has differential polishing than the granophyre (due to the Wisconsin Glaciation), which is attributed to different mineral assemblages, their respective mineral hardness, and crystal size. -- source link
