Black people or “poc” can be racist. No, not systematically, but they can be racist. Tumblr needs to stop defending them when stuff like the picture attached is being made and posted publicly for everyone to see. Being a minority does not excuse you for being racist and being pretty much a bully, yet tumblr still sweeps alllll of the negative comments made by black people about any race, even those of mixed race, under the rug and acts like it isn’t harmful. Just because the group the group you’re shitting on isn’t “oppressed”, doesn’t mean that you’re words and actions aren’t harmful and doesnt make it an okay thing. An excuse I hear quite often is “WELL PEOPLE ARE SAYING STUFF LIKE THIS ABOUT POC ALL THE TIME AND NO ONE CARES11!!1”. First of all, there are shitty people in all races literally everywhere, but how often do you see white people post stuff like this like you claim you do? Again, like I said, shitty people are everywhere, but poc try to make it sound like any time they get on any social media, they see some white person post something racist. if you’re poc and have seen something similiar to this, I’m sorry you had to come across and asshole, but is doing is back (especially as grown ass adults) really necessary? Just grow up already. If someone made a rude comment on your race as a poc, why can’t you just contact them and try to settle things or what not? Is posting something and causing drama really neccesary? I get it, you’re oppressed and I’m sorry about that, but is acting like a middle schooler and bullying strangers over the fucking Internet really the right way to go? -- source link
