ma3dhros:Tolkien Aesthetic || Tol-in-GaurhothTol-in-Gaurhoth, or the Isle of Werewolves, was a fortress held by Sauron during the First Age. It was located on an island on the river Sirion. Finrod Felagund initially built the tower of Minas Tirith at this strategic location. Later, Sauron took the island, which became home to his army of werewolves. During the Quest for the Silmaril, Beren and Finrod were imprisoned on Tol-in-Gaurhoth, where Finrod was slain. Lúthien and Huan rescued Beren, defeating Sauron and causing him to flee the island. Lúthien gained control over the island’s magic, and she and Beren buried Finrod there. -- source link
