Somali and the Forest SpiritStreaming on Crunchyroll.A golem tasked with observing the forest finds a little human girl. Humans were thought to be driven to extinction, so he adopts her and plays her off as a baby minotaur with a hood as they travel together and she gets into trouble because hey she’s a kid.New twist on the single dad raising a child trope I guess lolSomali is something I’d like to say I enjoyed, but I didn’t. It’s got nice art and an interesting world and Daddy Golem is AWESOME, but– BUT– I just can’t get over the sparse use of music. In most scenes where characters are talking, we get silence for BGM. The soundtrack is lovely when it does kick in, but it’s very jarring to not have it there so often. I ended up focusing more on the lack of music than the show.It doesn’t help that these soft paced atmospheric shows don’t generally jive with me. This will be good to a lot of people I feel - but those people aren’t me.Will I watch Episode 2? Probably not -- source link
