Bitou Cape Park After passing through Nanya on the Coastal Highway, Bitou Cape (鼻頭角) will be the next worth-visiting spot. Bitou Cape is one of the three capes of North Taiwan. The other two are Fugui Cape (富貴角), the northernmost cape in Taiwan, and the easternmost Sandiao Cape (三貂角). Here, you will have a chance to see most of the sea-eroded landforms, including the undercut bluffs, sea-eroded platforms and sea cliffs. Besides, variable and unique shapes of rocks here make this an outstanding natural geological classroom. The name Bitou Cape, meaning tip-of-the-nose in Chinese, comes from the cape landform that extend into the ocean in the shape of a nose. There are three well-planned trails with some pavilions on the way, giving access to splendid view of sea and sky. These trails will terminate at the tip of the cape and Bitou Cape Lighthouse, which was first built in 1896 and was rebuilt in its present form after being destroyed by bombing during World War II.Opening Hours:24hrEntrance Fee: FreeAddress:Bitou Road, Ruifang District, New Taipei City 224, Taiwan (ROC)Tel: N/AOfficial Website:http://www.necoast-nsa.gov.tw/user/Main.aspx?Lang=2Notice: The trail toward Bitou Cape Lighthouse is close at the moment due to falling rocks on the way. 2012/08/29 -- source link
