Stepping into the Light The important ones always noticed him first. Took him by surprise, stepped in front of his light and forced him to take notice. They approached him, and made him aware. Somehow those were always the ones that meant the most. There were conquests, girls that he spotted, targetted and had, but it was only ever that. There was little back and forth, instead just him, relentlessly capturing every little piece of them until he was done, leaving them sucked dry on the bed with all but a whimper slipping past their lips. They got what they wanted, and he had what he was after. She wasn’t one of those, she’d found him before he’d found her. It had taken courage for that first bit of contact, but the instant it had been made the roles had turned around, and he’d switched on the charm. It was something about the audacity of it, that little bit of push pull that wasn’t quite the passive acceptance of his pursuit. As much as he was Dominant, and she was submissive, that didn’t mean they had to slavishly adhere to those roles in all things. And that bucking from tradition and convention was what took his attention hardest, gave him a bout of whiplash that he would take weeks to recover from. Dazed, smiling, and reeling off charm as if it were practiced talking points in a debate. It framed the relationship in a different light, made it less about conquest than discovery, exploring this strange new creature that had burst onto the scene rather than having been placed there deliberately. A little bit of chaos in what was otherwise a meticulously ordered existence, something he wanted to control, rather than something he knew he could. And that uncertainty was what drove him. Discovering it, understanding it, and, fundamentally, controlling it. -- source link
