Has there been one book that has really taken your mind off the current situation that the world has been facing this year? For me it has been Writing Wild by Kathryn Aalto. This book celebrates 25 inspirational women poets/trailblazers who have undeniably deepened our connection to the natural world. It explores the power of the written word and the connection women have with the earth. Parts travel essay, literary biography, and cultural history, Writing Wild covers the likes of Mary Oliver, Vita Sackville-West, Emily Dickinson, and Dorothy Wordsworth, William Wordsworth’s sister, just to name a few. It has been quite a delight to slowly make my way through this wonderful book the past couple of months.
