northeastnature: For me, this year was all about hairstreaks - tiny, often grey butterflies with intricate patterns and adorable false heads on their hind wings to confuse predators (complete with “antennae”!). This was the year I finally got my “hairstreak eyes”. Soon I was seeing these butterflies everywhere, and they only got more beautiful the closer I looked.
