I’ve been pretty fortunate trying on all sorts of equipment and gear over the years, but I’ve never had the opportunity to try on a drysuit. They are expensive, often custom fit, and quite rare, so if I ever do come across one I won’t be hesitating to ask to try it on.The appeal for me are numerous. The idea of complete encapsulation, where water stays out and sweat stays in, is an immediate draw. Most have horizontal zippers across the back shoulders making it difficult if not impossible to remove without assistance. This appeals to the bondage enthusiast in me…and rubber neck gaskets, attached boots, thick rubber gloves or mittens that seal on to the wrists just make it all even more attractive. Top it off with a mask or breathing apparatus to completely cover every inch of skin and prevent even smells to penetrate.Then add some thick belts, harnesses, and maybe some rope, shackles, and restraints.
