uncharismatic-fauna: amnhnyc:While many animals on the Galápagos are highly specialized and unique to the island they inhabit, the Galápagos Dove (Zenaida galapagoensis) is uncommon in that it has few differentiating factors and, for the most part, looks similar across the archipelago—suggesting that the species moves freely between islands. This bird lives in subtropical forests and dry shrublands. It specializes in eating seeds, using its curved bill to unearth treats to eat; it also munches on the occasional caterpillar or flower.
