disimba: H&M just started a war they can’t win. Stealing artists work, whether or not it’s deemed “illegal” isn’t ethically moral. First off, Revok had been jailed already for his work, now he has switched up his style and is focusing more on murals and canvas pieces. I mean, you see this all the time with clothing containing with Banksy art graphics, making money off the guy literally calling them out. Of course this doesn’t stop large corporate monsters from stealing original ideas and profiting off of them. They see only see profit. This is basically the reason why I had found myself in this world. I hated the idea of corrupt companies and politicians banking off the ideas of the poor. It’s been going on forever, you see it in the way mainstream music steals the ideas and vibes from minorities culture. It’s the same thing with art. They don’t want to pay some kid from an art school, so instead they just steal artwork and ideas from people who can’t or don’t want to even make a profit off their art. These big companies bet on the fact that they will end up making more money off this stolen artwork on their t shirts, than it would cost them to be sued. Fuck that. -- source link
