Kim Dae Hyun, who goes by the pseudonym Moonassi, is a Korean, Seoul-based artist whose enigmatic body of work shows surrealistic scenes, characterized by the presence of buddha-like figures, rich with subtextual commentary. When asked what his moniker “Moonassi” meant in an interview with Artchipel, he answered that it’s a synthesis of “Moona”, his artist name meaning “there is no such thing as me” or “emptiness/void in me”, and the honorific suffix “씨 (-ssi)”. When put together they can be roughly translated as “someone who has no identity”. Tumblr -- source link
