losyanya:james-mcavoys:Good Omens 1.02: The BookThere are so many heart-warming things in this set of gifs let me count the ways:Top panel: Crowley’s grin. That open look of glee, the unabashed mischevious energy that is SO Crowley but is actually so rare to see. He has evaluated their predicament with getting paint-shot as a game, and is making plans, and is delighting in it; the corresponding book quote is “His tone suggested that he could play, too. And do it better.” - and DT has it down to a T. For a bit Crowley is putting their bigger problems out of his mind, and is just having fun - and I CHERISH that look.Second panel: Aziraphale being ridiculous and adorable in his pursuit of Crowley’s attention. Even as he elevates the pathos of his stained coat and Crowley takes the offered bait and circles around to evaluate the damage, even at that moment Aziraphale cannot give up eye contact and starts to spin himself to hold Crowley in his sight. Angel, he cannot look into your sad eyes and at your back at the same time! Third-seventh panel: This is just.. pure flirtation gold. The back and forth raising of the stakes. “Are you saying you have a problem? That might use my help?” “Oh, it is a terrible problem” “But does it require my involvement? (Say you Need my help)” “Absolutely does, I cannot solve this terrible problem by myself” “well then, if you NEED if, if I MUST”…Sixth panel: The Crowley pout. It’s just precious. And Aziraphale continuing to try to show off his “wound” while maintaining eye contact. Double precious.Seventh panel: Aziraphales’s dedication to maintaining a crest-fallen look in the face of Crowley’s ridiculous pout is truly impressive.Eighth panel: … I have no words for how cool Crowley is playing. Obviously trying SO hard, yet it somehow does not take away from the debonair look. Dashing hero to the rescue, please hold your applause.Ninth panel: Back to Aziraphale being special. That smile is dynamite, it’s not contained on his lips, or in his eyes, or even in his face, it’s exudes from ALL of him. And at the same time - this is when he becomes Shy???! The curt, understated “thank you”, the downturn of his eyes, and the sudden resolve to get on moving - even as he is radiating giddy happiness, even as he cannot help but sneak one more look up at Crowley. Trying to contain this uncontained emotion so hard, failing to do so spectacularly. Last panel: ..and Crowley’s enraptured stare, following the Aziraphale. The amused half-smile, that inertia-driven headshake, feigning exasperation: “You are impossible. Unbelievable. Can barely stand it”. Same amusement and exasperation directed internally “I am ridiculous around you. Cannot believe myself.” This is what smitten looks like. -- source link
