Magician’s Right Hand—————————&mdash
Magician’s Right Hand————————————————Negate the effect of your opponent’s first Spell Card or effect that resolves each turn while you control a Spellcaster-Type monster, and if you do, or if it did not have an effect, destroy that card.————————————————Can Be Found In: Maximum Crisis (MACR-EN049), 2018 Mega-Tin Mega Pack (MP18-EN012)As the game became faster with consecutive summons and several methods to gain all sorts of benefits, many Decks mainly involves monsters and Spell Cards to quickly obtain momentum from the players’ first turns. While monsters take over the field for all sorts of purposes, Spell Cards provides all sorts of assisting uses depending of our needs. From gaining other cards upon activation to disrupting the opponent’s game, truly the only difference from monsters is that most Spell Cards will leave the field after activation.“Magician’s Right Hand” is a card that will stay in the backrow to annoy the opponent’s game with a particular negation effect. Requiring a Spellcaster on our field, “Magician’s Right Hand” will negate the effect of the first Spell Card the opponent uses each turn to then destroy it. Originally a card designed to work along “Performapal Sky Magician” and its Anti-Trap counterpart “Magician’s Left Hand”, “Magician’s Right Hand” can become quite the annoyance in pretty much any Spellcaster Deck given the common use of Spell Cards in most Decks.Simply requiring a Spellcaster on our field, “Magician’s Right Hand” can fit in any Deck involving this Type. As pointed out it debuted with “Performapal Sky Magician”, using its abilities in conjunction with “Magician’s Right Hand” (And “Left Hand”) while gaining support from “Magician’s Restage” searching effect. Other strategies can simply keep it active as they focus on their main goals, ranging from “Dark Magician” and its many options, to Gravekeepers as they further shut down opponent’s options along “Necrovalley”. In any case, the result will be an opponent forced to rethink which and how to play their Spell Cards as their first choice will be automatically negated, so even if they try to bluff “Magician’s Right Hand” they’ll end losing resources regardless. Together with “Magician’s Left Hand” and/or other common options to negate cards with, the opponent will either waste cards effortlessly or retaliate until they find a way to avoid them. While “Magician’s Left Hand” isn’t as prevalent given few Decks heavily depend on Trap Cards, “Magician’s Right Hand” gained a staple position in some Spellcaster Decks due how much of an annoyance can become for the opponent’s plans. With many summoning options to always assure a Spellcaster on our field, “Magician’s Right Hand” might only negate the first opponent’s Spell Card each turn but is still quite a headache to face against and not lose a valuable Spell Card in the process. Due the possibility the opponent might waste a Spell Card to follow with a stronger card, some Spellcaster Decks might prefer to focus on “Secret Village of the Spellcasters” to completely shut down all Spell Cards despite the risk of negating ours. Is really up to preference, as “Magician’s Right Hand” might have a clear opening but still is a defensive card capable of forcing the opponent to lose resources in one way or another.Personal Rating: B++ While we control a Spellcaster negates and destroys the first Spell Card used by the opponent each turn+ Easy to work along any Spellcaster Deck- Some opponents won’t mind spending a Spell Card to bypass its effect- Some Decks might prefer “Secret Village of the Spellcasters” instead -- source link
