Also a little *life update* under the cut for those of you interested: Because apart from commissions, life has been busy. For the past 6 months I’ve worked part-time in a garage. Sadly illustrating does not provide a stable enough income to reliably support me - however, working with the cars has been super fun! Not to mention useful, and I had a great time there. Right now I’m heading towards a different part time job though: starting next year I’ll be training to become a train driver!! As some of you may know, besides being an animal and nature nut I also love old trains, and I volunteer with historic steam and diesel locos. But the modern little diesels that run near my house also hold a special place in my heart - you may remember them from the snow photos at the start of this year. So becoming a driver with them is kind of a dream coming true! Of course I will continue to paint and make art, that’s something I’d never want to give up. But if you have to have a side job.. this one doesn’t seem so bad ; ) Funny to think how years ago all I wanted was to become a dolphin trainer or a marine biologist. But dreams change, and careers working with animals are hard. They’re not just jobs, they’re a whole life, which can rarely be combined with anything else. Working with trains is frankly much easier and can be done part-time, meaning I’m still able to make art. I’d never want to give that up and now I get to combine two of my passions, which I’m so grateful for.I’m also busy getting my driver’s license, which I put off for years lol. I’m finally seeing the fun and convenience in it (plus it’s a requirement for being a train driver) which means I’m also getting my first car. It’s a super cute old Saab convertible, which I totally adore. The place I worked at was a Saab garage so no prizes for guessing where I got it from… Also LOOK AT HIS BUMPER HAT IN THAT PHOTO.That’s all for now, I hope you guys are doing well too ♥ If there’s anything exciting happening in your life you want to share, please do! -- source link
