Most of the important civil rights leaders were from the South. So don’t let anyone tell you what your Southern identity is.” - (x)This is so important!!! I’ve seen so many people spew hatred towards southerners because of the Charleston shootings. Completely ignoring the fact that the victims, and the victim’s families, are southerners. It’s also such a deflection tactic. There’s racism EVERYWHERE in this country. Even the most forward, “liberal” places like California have its issues with racism.Don’t kid yourself into thinking this is just a Southern issue, this is an issue EVERYWHERE. -- source link
