chocolatequeennk:That’s right! Winter is a time for baking, and there are so many good recipes floating around that I thought it would be fun to share the joy. Sadly, we can’t actually all get together and exchange cookies, the way you do in a traditional cookie exchange. However, we can post our favourite recipes for others to try, and then try out one or two new recipes ourselves and share stories/pictures of the finished product.Okay, so what exactly is a virtual cookie exchange?Step one: Post recipes! Use the tag #great cookie exchange so other bloggers can find all the recipes posted. Include any special tips you have, or a story about why this recipe is special to you.Step two: Pick a recipe or two, and bake a new kind of cookie! Take pictures as you bake, or of the finished product. Enjoy the deliciousness. Step three:Post about the cookie you tried, using the same tag again. Mention and/or tag the person who posted the recipe so they can find your post. Include any pictures you took, or a funny story that happened while you were baking, or your family and friends’ reactions to the new cookie. Basically, anything that would make the person who posted the recipe feel connected to your experience of baking the cookies. But what if…(Ie FAQ)What are the dates?Let’s keep this simple, and run the event through the end of December. I’m not going to assign a timeline for when you can post recipes or when you can start sharing your baking stories. What if my favourite winter treat isn’t a cookie?Any dessert is welcome. Cookies, cakes, candy… Let’s do stick to desserts for this cooking experiment. Can I lurk?Lurking is always allowed. If you see a recipe that looks yummy, but you don’t want to post anything about making it, you can still print it out and make it. What if my favourite recipe is from a cookbook?Sure! Just cite the cookbook–Like, “I found this in an old cookbook called “Cookies, Cookies, and More Cookies.” Not MLA style citations, don’t worry.Have fun, and happy baking! -- source link
