ainawgsd: Leucistic birds, a small sampling Leucism (loo-si-zem) is a condition of reduced pigmentation marked by overall pale color or patches of reduced coloring caused by a recessive genetic mutation which inhibits pigment from being deposited on the feathers, hair, or skin. Unlike albinism, leucism does not affect the pigment or the retina or iris so they have normal eye pigmentation (although due to recessive genes many leucistic animals also have pale eye color such as blue). -- source link
