shakespearecocktails: Beware the Ides of March We hope the warning doesn’t came too late for all the Roman imperators among our followers, but maybe you should take the day off today. It’s a stay at home/take a bath/keep out of reach of pointy things kind of day.Maybe have a drink, too. This one came out quite mild and sweet, to make up for the rough bitterness of being literally stabbed in the back by loved ones. Ingredients: Cherry syrup and a little water for the ice cubes Marzipan liqueur Very cold milk a few laurel leaves (ideally fresh, but dried ones work, too) Preparation: Prepare the ice cubes with a mixture of water and cherry syrup in about equal parts and let them sit in the freezer for a few hours. When they’re ready, crush them under your heel like a tyrant (don’t really do that, it’s not sanitary. With ice cubes, that is. Do with your tyrant whatever you please) and place them in a goblet.Cut your laurel leaves into not-too-small pieces (you might want to take them out before drinking, particularly if you used dried ones) and scatter them over the crushed ice; then pour the marzipan liquer and milk over them in a 1:4 ratio. Let the cocktail sit for a few minutes so the ice cubes start to bleed into the toga milk and the juices of the laurel come out before removing the leaves. -- source link
