The Halal Food Tour made its second stop right here in our very own town of Milton, located right at the Milton Go Station next to Superstore. If you’re from Milton then you definitely know that opportunities like this are quite rare. Thus making this festival a must-see. There were about a dozen food trucks of various cuisines ranging from Caribbean, Asian, Indian, and everything in between! I started the Halal Food Tour off with exploring some of the basics, your typical ‘fairground’ foods. Foodchella Day 1: Snack: Cheesy Corn Price: $4.50 Rating: 5/10 Verdict: The cheesiness was good. However, I feel like it could have used more flavour. Maybe some spice, seasonings, and lemon juice. Main: Hot Dog Price: $6.50 Rating: 3/10 Verdict: Honestly, I’ve had better hot dogs at Costco for $1.50 which includes a drink! The bun was very dry and the hot dog itself could have used more condiments on it. Not worth it in my opinion. Drink: Strawberry Lemonade Price: $9.04 Rating: 4/10 Verdict: It was super sweet and yet super tart at the same time. To be honest, this was probably the most refreshing drink you could find at the festival. It was perfect for the humid weekend we had. However, no one in their right mind should spend over $3 on a lemonade. It’s legit a crime since you can make it at home for more than a fraction of the price and control the amount of sugar that goes into it! Dessert: Nutella S’mores Cheesecake On A Stick Price: $8 Rating: 6/10 Verdict: It was delicious but wayyy too sweet and heavy for my liking. I probs ate about 2-3 bites every day and then ended up giving the rest to my siblings. I think if they were bite sized portions and were cheaper it’d be much better. Final Rating: 4.5/10 (at Milton GO Station) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdpSKzBuMw3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI= -- source link
