I’ve been posting on my stories about my mural at James Thompson Elementary but realized I have never posted it in my feeds! I’m incredibly grateful for being selected for the mural and all the connections and engagement with the teachers, students, City, and the principal. It’s been an uplifting journey so far and I cannot wait to show everyone the finished product. This is what my artistic process looks like: 1. Research, gather ideas from students about what the school motto is and what does “Thompson Tigers” mean to them. I discovered it meant “Thinking, Learning, Caring”. 2. With the motto in mind I drafted up the tigers that represents each word. 3. I then turned my sketches into digital work and worked on the colours. 4. Transferring the artwork onto the wall using sharpie, 5. Started painting on the wall. Here is what the mural looks like so far! I will also be adding grass and greenery and butterflies to it too. What do you think is the most interesting so far?
