A blindfold might be mainly used for sensory deprivation, but there’s another purpose, I’ve found. To depersonify. It renders the face just features, a nose, or, in this case, just a mouth. So much of a person is in their eyes; not necessarily in how they look, but what they look at. Take that away, and you take away a lot of that person. Aesthetically, that’s more than a little attractive. -- source link
