bloombergphotos: Security Forces Keep a Close Watch On Davos Q: How many armed forces does it take to guard the world’s elite at Davos?A: Approximately 4,000 From snipers on rooftops to security personnel wearing snow camouflage on the roof of the Congress Center, security is a top priority at Davos. But physical security isn’t the only threat this year. In a statement to a global news outlet, a WEF spokesperson wrote: We look at [security] from various angles ranging from our reports drawing attention to it as a major area of global business risk to an operational level. We employ encryption technologies where required, and subject ourselves to external and internal audits. During the Annual Meeting we invest considerably to create a secure IT environment… When it comes to personal or professional devices (smartphones, tablets which participants bring to our meeting), we help to ensure that they are able to access our mobile and web applications securely, and that the underlying data is protected using current security measures. Hopefully we didn’t crush anyone’s dreams of crashing the event to snap a selfie with Matt Damon.
