A mysterious hermit ~ galaxy UGC 4879 (also known as VV 124), is the most isolated dwarf galaxy in the periphery of the Local Group. Located in the constellation Ursa Major, away from Earth about 4.4 million light years. From the nearest galaxy Leo A splits her about 2.3 million light years. The diameter of UGC 4879 is about 2,200 light-years. The first mention of this galaxy comes from the catalog B.A. Vorontsov-Wieliaminow, 1959.
