The story behind this picture: When I was in Botswana I was asked if I wanted to collaborate with an amazing project– which I’ll leave it for his creator to share the details when the time is right –of a very talented South African photographer, and now friend of mine, named Alwyn Myburgh. When Alwyn told me about his project and shared his vision of how man and nature are intertwined, I immediately jumped on board and stripped down for the camera. The shooting took place in one of Botswana’s most diverse and beautiful national parks amongst hippos, hyenas and a lion roaring from a close distance. And to add more thrill to the scenario, I herd of elephants decided to show up making every cell of my body feel excitement, fear and absolute respect. I have never felt so vulnerable and free in such a breathtaking environment the way I felt during this project. It’s amazing how we forget we all belong to the same mother land. We forget we are all connected; from the smallest of the insects to the most fierce and majestic predator. I just can’t wait to tell my grandchildren about this experience. I can’t wait. ❗️I hope not to offend anyone with this picture. I’m posting this story with a lot of respect for both animals involved and people on IG. #Botswana #theworldhopper -- source link
