tylermarcotte21-blog: Hello My Lovelies!!! So here are my thoughts on the new Urban Decay, Alice Through the Looking Glass Palette. Over all, the Palette itself is amazing. It is beautiful, creative, the packaging is beautiful! As you could see from my previous post, it is the most vibrant colors. I own the previous Urban Decay Electric palette, And the colors remind me quite a bit of that. Moving on to the eye shadows, they themselves, for the most part, are amazing. They are all geared towards a character, and in this post I will be explaining them in that order. The lighting for the pictures is also quit good because I took it in nature lighting. The quality of the picture is also pretty good, but as like in my YouTube video, the quality could be a bit better because I took them with my phone. In this post I will be discussing the shadows by character, as I previously said, and talking about how I feel about them. (Disclaimer!!! Any colors that I refer to these are my own thinking, and not what they are actually…) Here we go! Let’s get into it! Starting with Alice: (Going Top to bottom) Looking Glass- This is a very light pink shade, a very light pastel ballet pink, with a slight shimmer. For me this shade falls a little flat, and I found it to be a little chalky, and comes off more matte on the skin as you can see aboveReflection- This is another beautiful matte shade, but in peach, and this will be a great blending shade for me personally seeing as it is so close to me natural skin toneDormouse- This is more of a chestnutty / reddish brown, with gold and brown glitter in it. This shade once again appears more matte when on the skin, and I am very excited for this shade, the slight glitter is beautiful when caught. Finally is Metamorphosis- This is a Periwinkle blue color, but with a turquoise duo-chrome to it, so when it is picked up on camera every time, it looked more pastel blue. And in the swatch it looks quite pastel as well. This shadow is very intriqing to me, and I can not wait to play with it. Mad Hatter:Hatter: This is a very Shamrock green color, but with some neon hints in there, and a lot of neon green glitter in there. The pigmentation is RIDICULOUS!!!Gone Mad- This is a plum with a pink purple shimmer. This is probably the biggest let down of the entire palette for me. This shade is streaky, does not have really any pigmentation, even if you build it up. It is over all just a dud…. *blows rasberries*… Don’t even wana discuss it…Paradox- This is a true metallic Orange. This shadow is one of the reasons I bought this palette. I scowered the interwebs seeing if I could find a shadow that was anything like this… and really found nothing. It is so unique and pigmented and i just want to die when i touch it and can not wait to use it. mmmmmmmm…. yes… Cake- This is a magengta, with a beautiful blue duo-chrome to it. This shade is so interesting and I can see myself having some very cute bubble gummy, kawaii looks with this! XDMirina (White Queen)- Lily- This is a lovely white shade, but with a intense pink duo chrome effect to it, or maybe a shift. This shade will be a great base shade. Very excited. Love me some neutrals. Duchess-Very beautiful rose gold/peachy silver glitter shade. This shade will also be a great base shade, or center lid shade to add depth to a look, and I am excited to play with this eye shadow a lot. Kingdom-This is a brown with a lighter brown shift with a shimmer overlay, but with more dimension than i can explain. This eyes shadow really goes well with the other two with this character.Chessboard- This is a very true brown, and matte. And following the trend, looks amazing with the other ones for this character. —Over all, this character is a great neutral look, and will be used A LOT!!! The pigmentation is amazing for all of these shades!Iracebeth (Red Queen)-Heads Will Roll- Turquoise with a lot of silver glitter. I do not personally gravitate towards blues, or cool tones, but this shade really sparked my interest. It is quite pigmented and the glitter really shows up, and I think on the lower lash line would be a great accent.Bandersnatch- This is a very deep, matte navy blue. This shade was said to be not very pigmented, and I whole heartedly disagree with that statement. I have yet to use this shadow in a look, but swatching it, it was beautiful. I want to experiment with this being a smudged liner! Salazen Grum-This is a beautiful burn rose gold, brownie, reddish shade. This shade is another reason I bought this palette. I am so excited to add this color into my every day mix… just look at that pigmentation… *mouth waters* Royal Flush- Pearlized pink/white. This shade is very similar to Lily, but then again it is also very different from it as well. This shade is probably my favorite out of the two, because of its silky nature and its appearance. FINALLY!!!TIME-Time- This is a really deep either black or navy with a gun metal or navy metallic over lay. This color is beautiful and so pigmented. It really speaks for itself. It is a stand alone color in this palette, in all regards.Dream On- This is a pink/lilac with a silver/lilac glitter overlay. This shadow also got a lot of slack from the YouTube community. It was said that it was not very pigmented and people were very disappointed in this shadow. This shadow isn’t suppose to be very pigmented. It is suppose to be an over lay color, and I am excited to experiment with that!!!Chronoshere- This shade is a brown with a metallic bronze over lay. This shade is a lot like Time and really speaks for itself. If any of the shadows are not represented correctly by the photos, it would be this one. You need to see it for yourself. Mirror- This is a gray shimmer shade. This in reality really looks like a gray matte, and was one of the biggest disappointments of the palette for me… I really didn’t enjoy the shade. I will use it for a smokey eye, but it did not peak my interest, and because this is the THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS palette… I really wanted it to wow me… *sigh*Well…. That was long…. I hope this over view of the palette really helped you out…. who ever you are, my lovely reader!!!
