Practicing the Bones and Rope hip harness. This is the first hip harness I felt like I really knew. I think I must have watched the video for it (the first half, at least), about 50-75 times within a week or so (many of them while at work, I must admit). And then i practiced on one of the desk toys I have at work a whole bunch of times, and then on myself. By the end of that week, I was spending free moments picturing the video in my mind and imagining myself tying the harness on myself. I like it. It’s simple enough, and I know it well. I haven’t tried suspending myself from it yet, but it feels like it should be pretty comfortable. Suspension is the next step I need to take with my self rope. I did put myself up at a small group rope practice a while ago, but that was only for a brief time, and it wasn’t with a harness I actually know. I bought an over the door pull up bar that’s rated for swinging things, like punching bags and “aerial yoga,” and I have gymnastic rings and some carabiners, so I have everything I need to try suspending myself. Sometime soon I’m going to ask someone to come over and spot me, and then I’ll start practicing self-suspension! -- source link
