Thursday, March 17th please join University of Idaho Special Collections librarian Robert Perret and archives manager Amy Thompson as they discuss their new book Images of Rail: Camas Prairie Railroad. The last vital section of rail to connect the eastern United States with the Pacific Northwest, the CPRR was the most reliable method of transportation for freight, people, and the postal service in this rural area, even allowing for the creation of new towns along the line. Infamously known as the “Railroad on Stilts,” one subdivision alone boasts 44 bridges, many of them made from heavy timber. This event takes place at Neill Public Library Thursday, March 17th at 7:00pm. (at Neill Public Library) https://www.instagram.com/p/CbI8w3mvvxn/?utm_medium=tumblr -- source link
