Deeeeeeeeeer. We pet lots of deer today. The deer park just. Makes me very happy. It was honestly really nice. There was a little muntjac deer on the other side of a fence who didn’t want food, only wanted his head scratched. A deer I sat with for a while. A lot of deer we fed, although a lot of them were skittish; could be the time of year, could be the amount of people coming and going and the noise of the crowds of kids. Because there were a lot of little kids today.Quite a few deer were also sleeping or dozing, so I wonder if that’s part of their routine, because at the end of our little walkaround it seemed like they were getting more active. It was really nice, though. I can’t emphasize that enough. There were also two horses again in a paddock. Different ones, mares. One who was relatively disinterested, one who was very eager to eat all the treats.Maybe it’s silly that I, a horse owner, still gravitate towards horses even in places like this but hey, it’s no worse than the cat people who hang out with the cats at the horse barn. Also dumbass taught a deer to stand up and get treats, which is probably terrible. Also also there were goats, and a few of them were more interested in getting pets and rubs than they were food, which is funny to me. But hey, goes to show they’re well taken care of, if nothing else. So yeah. Well worth it. -- source link
