fab-bladesmith: A Long Knife, late XVth century.Commission work, pending a scabbard.Spring steel blade with steel crossguard and nail, and an old wrought iron pommel. Everything hand-forged, obviously. Hand-rolled brass pins also, and light filework on the Nagel. You’ll notice a double short edge : I made it sharp on each side of the pointy thing on the back of the blade, as befitting.OAL 780 mm, with a 627 mm blade starting 7 mm thick and quickly tapering. It weighs 834 g for the time being, but I left it unsharpened for now- less risky when you need to make a scabbard, given my clumsy factor.PoB is at 102 mm from the cross. -- source link
