airyairyaucontraire: And then they go off on this bit that makes no sense in the context of the dub other than “Jessie is boasting about the many roles she’s played,” because in Japan Jessie/Musashi’s voice actor is Megumi Hayashibara and I don’t know if she’s the legend today that she was in the 90s because I’m a pop-cultural hermit but in the 90s Megumi Hayashibara was the biggest star in Japanese voice acting and here we go with a hit parade of her most famous roles. I recognise All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku (yes that was her whole name), Ranma-chan, Rei Ayanami, the fact that she also did the voices for Nyase (Meowth) and Ekans/Arbok in Japan, Faye Valentine and Lina Inverse (I’m guessing Lina is the director of this episode’s big favourite). Oh, and the woman from Paprika, whose name I forget but I recognised her in this lineup entirely because I was like “That’s Satoshi Kon hair if ever I saw it.” -- source link
