Gender: FemalePod: N/APlace of Capture: Born at Kamogawa Sea World, JapanDate of Capture: Born January 11, 1998Age at Capture: Captive bornCurrent Location: Kamogawa Sea World, JapanOn January 11, 1998, the Icelandic female Stella gave birth to her first calf, a female named Lovey sired by the Icelandic male Bingo.Lovey was the very first successful captive born Orca in Japan, and has witnessed the successful births of 3 of her younger sisters; Lara, Sarah, and Ran II.On October 13, 2008, Lovey gave birth to her own calf, a male later named Earth sired by the Icelandic male Oscar. Lovey turned out to be a very good mother, as she was kept with Stella and was able to learn necessary mothering skills.In December of 2011, Stella was moved to the Port of Nagoya Aquarium, leaving Lovey and her calves behind at Kamogawa. Lovey took over the role as dominant female and went on to give birth to her second calf on July 19, 2012; a female named Luna who was also sired by Oscar.Unfortunately, Oscar died in December 2012, leaving Kamogawa with no breeding males.
