Now classified as the Pokémon Mew, the creature displayed characteristics of all Pokémon. Mew was friendly, and showed interest of returning home with them, leaving the rainforest behind. The researchers were pleased. It showed exceptional potential. There were multiple shadow organizations that showed their interest in Mew.The researchers that traveled to this rainforest were in a predicament. While they wanted to share the information they gathered to the world once they returned — for free and for everyone, the leader of the team was swayed by the promise of money. Two organizations, Codename R and Codename P, approached the head researcher for exclusive rights to Mew’s information. The contract they created gave Codename R and Codename P free reign to do what they wanted with Mew’s saliva samples. They agreed.Underneath the dense canopy of a secluded forest in Kanto, Codename R; now a fully-fledged mafia called the Rocket Gang, had one of many base of operations. Within the laboratory, Rocket scientists conducted multiple genetic tests with the DNA they took from Mew. There stood a large vat of synthetic amniotic fluid, wherein a small creature resembling Mew grew.The Rocket Gang had nefarious intentions. They edited Mewtwo’s genes in an attempt to remove its empathy, to no avail. They decided it wouldn’t matter. The Rocket Gang wanted a weapon, so they decided giving it ultimate power would allow it to disregard morality. Mewtwo was subjected to brainwashing, brutal physical testing and neglect. For a while, it seemed like they succeeded.Their first and final success was Mewtwo. Mewtwo was hyper intelligent, and played the fool whilst plotting its revenge. Its hatred bubbled over and exploded one day, upon which the laboratory burned at Mewtwo’s hands, including the cruel taskmasters that poked and prodded it like an experiment for its entire life. The forest was engulfed in flames, and Mewtwo left Kanto in a blaze of glory. This was the beginning of the Rocket Gang’s eventual demise.Incidentally, fossils of an ancient insect surfaced in Isshu. Codename P — Plasma, got their hands on it. Plasma was an evil monarch masquerading as a militant revolutionary group. At the head of Plasma Research was a man named Achroma. Obsessed with power, he decided he would perfect the antiquated Mew. The fossils were injected with Mew’s DNA and exposed to radioactivity. Over time, a purple insectoid developed. They mounted a gun on its back powered by Infinity Energy — a new discovery heralding from Hoenn. They named it Genesect.This was not the end of the project. Remnants of Genesect’s shell were placed into amniotic fluid. Much like calculus, Mewtwo was born in two separate areas of the world around the same time. Achroma and his scientists were pleased. This Mewtwo was a little stronger because of the extra radioactivity. It was born with an unstable genome, allowing it to harness excess Infinity Energy from its surroundings to burst into insane amounts of power. Its body morphed during this change, gaining a forehead crest and a streamlined, smaller body. It was a temporary form, exactly like Mega Evolution.This Mewtwo witnessed the pain and suffering of Genesect enduring physical trials and brutal testing. Mewtwo was fine being subjected to the same tests as it was stronger and more intelligent, but its heart broke for Genesect’s plight. They did not allow Mewtwo and Genesect to ever speak. Over time, four more Genesect were created by cloning the original, but Mewtwo was alone.Mewtwo longed for a friend, so when the laboratory was empty for a Plasma HQ meeting, Mewtwo tore the lab to shreds. It met with the five Genesect and connected hearts instantly. They vowed to take their revenge on humanity. When the scientists returned, the Genesect and Mewtwo destroyed the lab and fled Isshu. They went their separate ways. Mewtwo would seek meaning, Genesect would seek their former home.Achroma was displeased that his team was taken out. He traveled to Kalos to continue his personal research on Mega Evolution…One day, somewhere in the stratosphere, the impossible happened. The two Mewtwo met. To their respective surprise, they found meaning in one another. Kanto’s Mewtwo finally had someone to share its burden. Isshu’s Mewtwo finally had a family. The siblings shared their experiences and learned from each other. Kanto’s Mewtwo was intrigued by the temporary form Isshu’s Mewtwo could take. Instinctively, Isshu’s Mewtwo linked hands with Kanto’s Mewtwo, transferring its Infinity Energy to Kanto’s Mewtwo’s berserk genes, editing them. It’s limbs stretched and it’s muscles pounded with ultimate power. Another temporary form. They didn’t know it at the time, but they became the strongest siblings in existence.They shared their hatred for humanity, but empathy for those in pain. They split up and vowed to meet once they traveled the world and taking in all the information about their circumstances they could muster. One year later, they met and contemplated their adventures, battles, lessons and meetings. They warmed up to humanity. Their compassion was inevitable, as both teams failed to remove their genetic capacity to feel. They set out to create their own ultimate weapon, but they failed.Since then, they’ve had a lot more adventures together, honing their power and Mega Evolving from their own wishes.
