peachcollective:Arya’s story encompasses many themes: survival, loss of innocence, identity, duality, family, justice, death, war, mercy, leadership and more. While survival is particularly important to Arya’s arc (she is perhaps the most adaptable and versatile character in the entire series), the only thing that matters more to Arya than survival is love. She is defined by it from the very first sentence: “Arya is already in love.”Her central motivation throughout the series is reuniting with her loved ones. She longs for companionship, loves being around people, and makes friends wherever she goes. Her personal mantra “the lone wolf dies but the pack survives” emphasizes the strength of family and community, or pack. She craves love and belonging from her pack, and when she loses them, it threatens to destroy her. Her love shapes and defines her very identity, and ultimately it is the reminder of her loved ones that keeps her from losing herself completely. -- source link
