c-rowlesdraws: c-rowlesdraws:So… I’ve seen this phenomenon before, where my tags just get copied over wholesale from my posts into other people’s reblogs, but it seems to be turning from an occasional odd deja-vu moment into a regular occurrence, so I wanted to say something. I’m not mad, I’m just confused, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. There’s an xkit extension that does this, which I’ve never enabled because I, personally, would rather tag reblogs in ways that are personal to me… but also because, if someone’s tagged a post with personal statements, it’s kind of awkward to copy those into a field that implies they’re yours. Especially things like “my art”, “my illustration”, and so on.Like, I get the appeal for practical things like posts tagged with fandom names or other info, but accidentally misattributing artwork to yourself aside, it’s a risky practice. What if you reblog a post tagged with, like, “I LOVE FARTS”, and you just copy that tag over? Now all your followers think that you love farts. Why even take that chance. But if for some reason you like copying over tags, it feels convenient, whatevs; if you’ve got a tag-copying extension enabled, just… check up on your reblogs and prune tags with OP’s personal statements, or ones that imply you produced art you’re just reblogging, maybe? Thanks.I’ve also heard this can be a mobile glitch; I’ve tried and failed to replicate it, but the same thing applies: just peek at the tags on your reblogs every now and again to make sure Unwanted Stuff isn’t happening. two years later and this is still a thing! Please check your reblogs and prune duplicate tags it’s weird and awkward -- source link
