There is no one “right” way to squat!!! For the longest time I thought proper squat placement was feet hip width apart, feet pointed straight ahead. I was super awkward at this, and couldn’t even hit parallel! I just thought, “I guess I’m not built for squatting ” THEN MY WHOLE LIFE TURNED UPSIDE DOWN when I watched one of Juggernaut Training System’s YouTube videos discussing the proper way to squat FOR YOUR BODY. As in, people are built differently (hip anatomy, relative femur/tibia/fibula/torso length, general mobility, etc) and squatting in a different stance IS OKAY. As you can see, I am most comfortable in a wide stance with my toes pointed out. I can get deeper and lift more weight in this position. I HIGHLY recommend going to JTS’s YouTube channel and watching some of their squatting videos if you were like me, squatting all wrong for your anatomy.
