norealgoodbyes:zombiekaiba:thesilentduelist: bakurapika: Mini-comics! I… yeah… I… I don’t even know. Haha. It looks like it might be Takahashi’s work…? #1 is clearly Kaiba using a card (which I can’t find on the list) to steal Yuhgi’s and Jyonouchi’s stars and steal X'mas. #2 is Tetsu Ushio (an early manga villain) and Yuhgi being assigned to make a poster. Either Ushio has awful hand-eye coordination or he’s just being a goof, but either way he gets a Picasso penalty game. #3 is probably just as funny and needs a translated punchline, since it just looks here like Kaiba can’t summon Blue Eyes. (Maybe it really is against the rules to summon another two in one turn…? //shot) #4 is apparently a beach episode we never got, complete with rampant melon murder. Kaiba is once again bending the laws of reality with cards (is that a rudimentary Burst Stream of Destruction or some other card?) just to torment Yuhgi and Jyonouchi. Perfect. (I managed to find the characters for that last line, フフツ, which seems to just be laughing ‘fufutsu’. Correct me on that if I’m wrong >>) I’m going to have a crack at the last panel of comic no. 3 here, cause I know a bit of Japanese and Chinese. The kanji in the first line of text have katakana next to them that I’m 90% sure say ‘Duel Disk’, and the meaning of the characters supports this (決闘 means duel, and 盤 means a flat object like a tray or a disc). Then the next two lines talk about there being a ‘2000 year problem’, which I think is a reference to the Y2K scare when everyone was afraid that computers and other technology would stop working in the year 2000 (makes sense because Yu-Gi-Oh! was still being written at the time). So basically, Kaiba’s Duel Disk stopped working because the calendar ticked over to the year 2000 while he was in the middle of a duel. djhgafgj so basically that is EXACTLY what it translates to!!! -- source link
