Being forced to have sex for survival is rape. Coerced sex is rape. And its disgusting that we live in a society where this exists in many different forms. No one should be forced to have sex to survive. how is it rape if its your choice? in no way are you being forced to go for that house?am I crazy? also id like to see how rare this is Do you not find it morally reprehensible for someone to coerce someone else into sex for basic needs like a place to live? noones being coerced at all if you dont want to do it, ignore the add, move on to the next of the thousands. It’s not on equal footing though. This person is not a prostitute/sex worked. They’re a person in need of something and someone is telling them that if they want a certain necessity, they have to have sex with them. That’s incredibly slimy. It IS coercion. Like, yeah, the person can walk away, but to tell a vulnerable person that they owe you sex in exchange for a good when said person is not a sex worker, that’s definitely coercion. normal response: wow, horrifying ancap/sex offender response: what is the issue here It’s sleazy, but it’s not rape unless the landlord says “sleep with me or you’re evicted.” But if they say “You can pay your rent this month in either cash or pussy” then it’s not rape, though it is creepy. Tbh there are times in my life when I woulda considered taking a d for 5 minutes for a few months free rent. People with a middle-class background seem to have a hard time identifying economic coercion. They also seem to have a harder time grasping the fear of being homeless and the possibility of having no food. Economic coercion is the difference between someone who’s a prostitute because they love sex, and someone who’s a prostitute because their mom’s lifesaving medications are expensive. Rape is the wrong word to use, but it’s clear this behavior is morally repugnant. (see: capitalism)Poverty isn’t the natural condition of human beings, poverty is man-made. How is this any different from porn stars? Most get in at 18-21 when they’re young and don’t know any better. Sure some people just love sex and would like to get paid for it. What about the people who did a few movies but once they got known couldn’t do anything else because no well paying job wanted to be associated with them? How many porn stars that either want to retire or have came back because it’s the only way they can make money? I have seen many. Jumping into porn is a big risk. A risk that can trap you if you have no lifelines, support or real back up plan to make money. -- source link
