the Lion King has been one of my favorite movies for a long time, and i think it’s because Hans Zimmer’s score always sounded like it was describing God to me. but Simba’s journey speaks to me personally, most powerfully the scene when he meets Mufasa again. i’ve struggled with self hatred and unwarranted guilt and depression for most of my life, but that’s never changed who i am to the Lord, and how He cherishes me. He is coming soon and He longs for everyone to be one of His protected children. “But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” (1 John 1:9)“But to all who believed Him and accept Him, He gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow- not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky or in the earth below- indeed, nothing in all of creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)Transcript:10: You said You’d always be there for me.. How could I?Lion of Judah: You have forgotten who I Am, and so have forgotten who you are. You are more than what you have believed. 10: But how can You want me back? ..I’m not who I used to be..Jesus: Remember… who I Am. You are My child, and you always will be. Remember who you are.. I have never left you. I will always love you. -- source link
