David Tesinsky from Prague, Czech Republic, is an independent photographer of the subcultures. One of his series involved him visiting a prison in Kharkiv, Ukraine, where he made a portrait series of both women and men who have been sentenced to life imprisonment. The prison he visited is a prison for the “worst cases” in the whole of Ukraine, however, the standards are not all bad. It’s clean, each inmate has a TV in their room and there’s also a room to rent for 1 to several nights if any of the inmates would like to spend some private time with his/her lover or husband/wife, costing around €4 per night. Each photograph will be labelled with the offender’s name, crime(s), and victim count down below. Note that the photographs above are in order of each of the offender’s name. Volodymyr Kyrylenko.
