I went on a big Independence Day adventure today! I started at the Old State House to hear the Declaration of Independence read out to the public, just as it was in 1776. Then I followed the procession over to Faneuil Hall and watched a Drums and Fifes band play historic and traditional songs. After that, I walked to the Charlestown Navy Yard to see the USS Constitution, and since I was in the neighborhood I visited the Bunker Hill Monument. I walked back into town via the Freedom Trail and past the (new) State House by Boston Common, and then said “Hi” to George Washington in the Public Garden. #boston #independenceday #fourthofjuly #happy4th (at Boston, Massachusetts) -- source link
