allthecanadianpolitics:Today (December 6th, 2017) is the 28th anniversary of Canada’s worst mass shooting event; The Ecole Polytechnique Massacre. On December 6th, 1989, an anti-feminist man walked into Ecole Polytechnique (an Engineering school in Montreal, Quebec) and murdered 14 young women simply because they were women and choose to pursue careers in Science. It is partly due to this horrific event that Canada enacted some of its strong gun control laws, 2 years later in 1991.Lets remember their names, and lets all do better to help prevent violence against women today, and on all days. -- source link
