thechosenjuan: Movies Watched in 2012 167. Score (Radley Metzger, 1974) I pretty much fell in love with Radley Metzger last year when I saw The Opening of Misty Beethoven (which is essentially a pornographic rewriting of Pygmalion with the wittiest screenplay of all time). Now I’m sure you’re all looking at that cover and wondering what the hell I’m watching, but trust me, this movie was absolutely fantastic. This is quite honestly the best porno I’ve ever seen, and I hate using the word “porno” to describe it because there wasn’t even that much sex. This had such a well-established story, some pretty fucking great music (that I really want to use when I have sex), and some intentionally hilarious dialogue. How often do you get that with adult cinema? The film is stunningly shot and executed, using mirrors and shots from different corners in the best of ways. It doesn’t even have all that many sex scenes, but let me tell you, it’s not your average adult movie. It’s just a pleasure to watch. Trust me, I really just hate watching porn most of the time because it’s just stupid. But this - this just works. The best part, however, is definitely the fact that this isn’t just some straight couple or some gay couple or some lesbian couple. Oh, no. There’s this lovely couple that likes to invite others over for sex, and experimentation is clearly a thing of the past for them. Then we’re introduced to this timid couple that seem fairly unsure of their sexuality. And trust me, when the fun starts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The entire movie is pretty much just the sheer build-up of sexual tension, as well as a lot of really well-written dialogue, that all culminates in two simultaneous sex scenes that will really knock your socks off. If you ever want to check out adult cinema of the seventies, say hell no to Deep Throat and hello to all of Radley Metzger’s films. You’ll thank me for the suggestion. -- source link
